After having reinveted Hennessy X.O’s carafe, Frank Gehry has injected his vision into the Hennessy X.O Mathusalem; 30 absolutely astonishing versions of the nectar, sculpted and handmade by Baccarat!

For Hennessy’s 150 year jubilee, after havnig reimagined the iconic carafe, Frank Gehry gives us the most intricate expression of his genius yet, under the form of the Hennessy X.O Mathusalem, chiseled like a proper work of art.

Inspired by a timely visit to Cognac and an in-depth demonstration of the expertise that allows for the Hennessy X.O blend, Hennessy X.O’s Mathusalem is an opportunity to seize, through the grandeur of its design, the power of its very essence; carving this container, as splendid and precious as the nectar that it protects, called for innovative techniques and tools.

A Work Of Art In Itself

After having been drawn by Frank gehry, the Hennessy X.O Mathusalem’s manufacturing was entrusted to the genius artisans at Baccarat, while paying attention that the outcome be as faithful to the original design as possible; the Mathusalem carafe emerges as a sort of shrine that was chiseled from the purest ice, and its transparence unveils the superb Hennessy X.O Mahogany coat.

The design and dimensions of the project required over 30 kilos of Baccarat crystal. the artisans’ complex techniques allowed them to create thirty different molds, each dedicated to a specific sculpture, effectively surpassing their already astonishing talents. Hence why this particular Mathusalem is presented in 30 iterations, each sculpted by hand, courtesy of Baccarat.
