A rich array of materials, bestiary, and illusions – this is how the inspirations for the soon to be iconic collection Le Marché des Merveilles could be summed up in a nutshell. A line of timepieces that accompanied Alessandro Michele’s collection, Le Marché des Merveilles is composed just like this breed of stylistic exuberance. Because it highlights the unparalleled artisanal mastery of Gucci’s watchmaking workshops, the Gucci Dive line, in constant evolution, has undertaken the perfection of the creative director’s emblematic animal motifs. A tiger head, a snake, and a bee are worked through refined embroideries and richly colored here.

Two of the new styles are equipped with a supple brown Toscano veal leather bracelet while three others, with a touch more sporty elegance, have a nylon bracelet adorned with the Gucci stripes. These three new styles also sport the French expression “L’Aveugle par Amour” engraved onto the bracelet. But the pieces that resonate the most with neophytes are undoubtedly the two 40mm styles, available in yellow or in an entirely black version, that bring rubber into contact with the nobility of watchmaking. One uses a roaring tiger head, while the other uses the bee that is so loved by Alessandro Michele.

On the technical side, these latest Gucci timepieces are composed of extra-large 45mm variants and equipped with either a green-red-green striped bracelet or an electrifying yellow one. Another characteristic of these new additions is the added embroidery to the nylon dial: a unique 3D effect puts the rubber dial into relief with a tiger head, captured beneath the sapphire glass of a stainless steel case. Waterproof up to 200 meters, these watches will be more formally introduced at Baselworld in the coming months.
