Artistic Director Walter Chiapponi has placed Gommino Tod in the aesthetic footsteps of artist Peter Beard – in a collection that blends savannah with the sensuality of Italian summer!

“I imagined an Italian holiday in August, when it is very hot in the Soyleone and the light is so bright it almost blinding. This is how Walter Chiapponi describes the inspiration that spins through the solar pieces of the Tod’s Spring / Summer 2022 collection. A collection where the backdrop is none other than the meeting of the epic universe of the artist Peter Beard, with the sensual and romantic aura of Tuscany!

Gommino Tod’s S / S 2022: Natural Leather For Italian Safari

Inspired by the safari images of photographer Peter Beard, Walter Chiapponi presented once again in a video format, a Tod’s collection more nonchalant and natural than the previous ones.

By spinning the theme of an urban safari, Walter Chiapponi dresses the Tod’s man for next summer in quilted jackets, in natural leather, accompanied by Bermuda shorts, nylon shorts, or even hoodies, but here cut in suede … We thus find the materials dear to the house of Tod’s in sporty and refined silhouettes. Supple and radiant!

We also note the appearance of a new jacket, called Jack Biker. A canvas jacket where the Gommino leather pads – the brand’s signature motif – are placed like patches on the elbows.
These spikes that can also be found on a pair of immaculate sneakers, and stamped with the name Tod’s. Gommino’s pimples sticking out the back of the sneaker!

Speaking of Gommino, the icon of the house founded by Diego Della Valle presents himself for Spring / Summer 2022 in leather that is as exquisite as ever – in a natural and earthy tint. An ideal Gommino for strolling through the bucolic landscapes of Italy, and in particular those of Tuscany … The region where the film from the Tod’s 2022 collection was shot.
