From December 6th through 9th, the place to be is Art Basel, the XXth and XXIst centuries art fair, based in Miami Beach. Designer Charlotte Olympia understood it well and created for the occasion a capsule collection around her Dolly model.
She dresses here the 5,5 inches high heel, recognizable by the golden platform, with canvas and calls the body painter Boyarde to imagine a limited edition celebrating her passion for modern art, available exclusively at Neiman Marcus in Miami.
From Van Gogh to Mondrian, six artists are reinterpretated by Boyarde, each one of them highlighting a major artistic movement of the XXth century, as an echo of the masterpieces displayed in Miami Beach galeries this week.
Under the direction of Charlotte Olympia, “high heels” become “high arts” and the speech bubble on the Roy Lichtenstein inspired shoes is telling us “just one more pair” as saying out loud our deepest desires.
