The City Watch Tourbillon Numbered Edition

The expertise of Omega Watchmakers

The expertise of Omega watchmakers had just taken a crucial step. After having already launched the watch that walked on the Moon, the Omega workshops were able to create the first luxury watch with a central tourbillon with manual winding, Master Chronometer certified. In addition, it is able to operate under a magnetic field of 15,000 gauss. “Extraordinary achievements in the creation of whirlpools” of the house’s own words.

In terms of the tourbillon creation, the company has long been a master. Exactly since 1947 with the revolution that was the first tourbillon wristwatch .

Further, Omega watchmakers this time set the speed of the tourbillon at one rotation per minute. The iconic 1947 tourbillon rotated every 7.5 minutes. This revolution allows the display of seconds, which is essential to obtain the famous Certification Master Chronometer established by METAS.

Powered by the Co-Axial Master Chronometer 2640 caliber with a 3-day power reserve, the De Ville Tourbillon Numbered Edition watch is as rare and beautiful as it is powerful.

Because each numbered edition of De Ville Tourbillon was handcrafted by expert watchmakers at Atelier Tourbillon in Omega, after a month of goldsmith work.

A New Watch Marvel Signed by Omega

The De Ville Tourbillon Numbered Edition watch thus reveals the tourbillon as the focal point of its design. Placed at the center of the sun-brushed 18-carat Sedna gold dial, the tourbillon reveals all the finesse of an extraordinary operation.

Its bridges and main plate are also cut in 18-carat Sedna gold, with bevelled edges by hand. The tourbillon cage is finished with hand-polished titanium bevels, with black ceramic coating. A mesmerizing beauty which finds an even more refined echo in the case.

A 43 mm case, stitched with the Omega logo . Around it, the 18-carat Canopus gold crown reveals its white gold alloy exclusively produced for Omega. The bezel and the back of the De Ville Tourbillon Numbered Edition watch use 18-carat Sedna gold in its natural pink color and, in a play of reflections, help to create a mesmerizing watch.

It is on the crown winder that we can read the specific number of each of these eminently sublime and efficient timepieces. An Omega watch that once again links aesthetics to technique to give watchmaking a new revolution – that of the antimagnetic tourbillon.
