Evian water was born in the heart of the French alps. A unique location where glaciers and mountains have surrounded and protected it for thousands of years. Since 1992, Evian has released its bottle in a special collector’s glass edition every year around this time. Before there was Jean Paul Gaultier, Issey Miyake Paul Smith… Upon contact with the aesthetics of Lebanese designer Elie Saab, the bottle’s luscious silhouette is wrapped in a timelessly delicate dressing. Saab said that Evian gave him the theme of purity; this is how the couturier designed what he’s presenting as an “ode to purity”, where the purity of Evian’s natural mineral water meets the iconic purity of Elie Saab’s style. Renowned for his sense of design and unequaled virtuosity in composing magnificent dresses filled with timeless elegance and pure lines, the designer is now concentrating all of his influences into giving Evian a bottle that is graphically pure.
This unique aesthetic took 17 prototypes and 4 months to finalize its custom-made lace conception. A complex signature gracefully espouses the soft and feminine lines of Evian’s bottle. Composing his creation by integrating all the personality of the brand, Elie Saab nonetheless manages to slip some of his own attitude in as well. To bring Elie Saab together with Evian, Saab creates a sentiment of purity using a transparent design through which you can even see the purity of the water itself. A noble transparent lace encloses the bottle as if to reflect the liquid’s transparency. For this limited edition 2014, the bottle is dressed up with a white lace motif like snow, with extreme delicateness. This refined design unites savoir-faire and sophistication to trace the lightness of this pure water that finds a home in a sublime piece of glass, to be viewed like a work of art. Just like poetry, Elie Saab and Evian are composing an ode to aquatic femininity. This limited edition will be available in November.
