Kim Jones spins the aesthetic and artistic heritage of the house even further around the Dior suit. A centerpiece from the Men’s Dior wardrobe that now combines two emblematic gestures of Dior’s sewing!
For his Spring / Summer 2022 collection, Kim Jones drew the hues and aura of her lines from the fabric of a journey made by Christian Dior. In 1947, the year of the introduction of his first collection and the New Look revolution, Christian Dior flew to the United States – and among his favorite destinations, Kim Jones honored Texas.
To do this, the current artistic director of Dior Homme has notably relied on an unprecedented collaboration with Travis Scott. A native of Texas himself, the artist thus contributed to reinventing the Dior logo, at the same time as he put his mark on some pieces called Dior Cactus.
Another Texan artist to have collaborated on this Spring / Summer 2022 collection by Dior – the George Condo collection! The artist applies his creative method and his very measured paint strokes on impeccable and arty shirts.
But where you can really feel the chic inherent in the heritage of the house on Avenue Montaigne, is in the Dior suit. The piece is cut around the ‘ligne oblique’, and cast in a shade dear to Christian Dior.
Dior Tailor: Oblique Stylings And Frosted Pink
For Christian Dior, pink is “the softest of colors”. And in Kim Jones’ apparent desire to restore grace and softness to the men’s wardrobe, one can only admire the impeccable use of a frosted pink on the iconic Dior suit.
A true centerpiece of Dior men’s elegance, the Dior suit is coupled with a nonchalance that can only be seen in the original use of this frosted pink.
A most interesting pink, especially when you notice these streaks – a nod to the Texan desert, and its fascinating landscapes, caressed by the winds!
