Presented within the Grand-Palais, the Spring/Summer 2017 collection went down the runway within a decidedly digital decor – signed Chanel. To this Karl Lagerfeld adds: “You have to live in the present, not the past. Electronics define our era. Everyone is taking inspiration from disco and the 80s. But what’s the point of redoing things that belong in the past?” The Chanel woman is one of her times, and is even a step ahead of the rest sometimes. Composed around a theme of intimacy and technology, this collection introduces, alongside the silhouettes of tomorrow, a new way of devaluating and using technology to better perfect the past and all its traditions.
Now the tweed suit designed and worn by Gabrielle Chanel over a century ago is being reinvented in the Spring/Summer 2017 collection in line with the super-digitized feel.
