Cartier Reflection

Cartier Reflection

Cartier Reflection is a watch that keeps on dazzling, continuing to push the boundaries of both horology and jewelry! This creation, presented at the Watches and Wonders exhibition, is nothing short of breathtaking.

Cartier Reflection: An Iconic Watch!

With Cartier Reflection, a watch that follows in the footsteps of innovative models like Clash [Un]limited and Coussin, Marie-Laure CĂ©rĂšde, Cartier’s Director of Jewelry and Watchmaking Design, once again pushes the limits of what is possible!

“Reflection transcends the traditional distinctions between jewelry and watchmaking, dedicating itself to the exploration of time. Designed like a broken chain link, this sophisticated creation, blending segments and mirrors, disorients our perceptions. The hour appears in an unpredictable manner, offering a modern and avant-garde interpretation of watchmaking.”

A true object of desire, this creation plays with an intriguing duel between a delicate dial and a mirror that seems to reverse the flow of time. The dial, topped with a gem-cut crystal, embodies the subtle and precise duality that is the unique signature of the Cartier Reflection watch.

With the Reflection watch, the house indeed explores a world where time becomes a game of perceptions, oscillating between mystery and fascination. The goal is clear: to capture the enigmatic essence of time through bold and innovative designs.

The Cartier Reflection watch wraps around the wrist with a spectacular square bracelet, where at its end, a small watch reflects into a mirror of the same size. This bracelet, with its articulated, scarified, half-feline, half-reptilian design, embodies an unprecedented hybridization between a watch and a jewel.

“This piece is the result of many ideas coming together. I envisioned it as a sculpture, a chain where a link or element has been removed to make way for the watch. The bracelet’s curve contrasts with the square shape of the dial, creating an intriguing play of reflections, both new and quintessentially Cartier,” explains Marie-Laure CĂ©rĂšde.

This masterpiece comes in several versions, each highlighting a unique contrast. Whether in yellow, pink, or gray gold set with diamonds or paved with precious stones, each variation redefines the balance between fullness and emptiness, rigidity and fluidity.

The gray gold version stands out particularly for its meticulous work on pavings, offering a bold combination of textures. The snow setting and inverted setting combine for an unparalleled tactile and visual experience, paying homage to Jeanne Toussaint, who appreciated the subtle sensuality of these techniques!
