in 2022, theBMW M range celebrates its 50th anniversary. To mark this great event, the M4 CSL made its world premiere at the famous “Concours d’ÉlĂ©gance” of the Vila d’Este. CSL for “Competition Sport Lightweight”, the M4 CSL continues the dynasty that began with the 3.0 CSL of the 1970s and, in 2003, with the M3 CSL. The new M4 CSL shares much of its features with the M4 GT3, the competition model .

Under the hood, we find the six-cylinder in-line M3 and M4 Competition that goes from 510 to 550 hp. The performances are breathtaking with a 0 to 100 km/h shot in just 3.7 seconds and a 0 to 200 km/h shot in 10.7 seconds. The maximum speed is announced at 307 km/h.

BMW M4 CSL

The BMW M4 CSL shown in the images has a matte “Frozen Brooklyn Gray” tint. Alpine White and Sapphire Black are also available. The set is completed with carbon elements and some red inserts. The optics, equipped with laser technology, light up in yellow and thus clearly echo the world of competition. The light signature of the rear optics is special, it is equipped with a technology to create a sublime three-dimensional effect.

The CSL is equipped with 19-inch front and 20-inch rear light alloy wheels. They are circled by Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires specially developed for this model in 275/35 ZR 19 at the front and 285/30 ZR 20 at the rear.

The interior of the BMW M4 CSL

The BMW M4 CSL emphasizes lightness and nearly 1,625 kg with a full tank. That’s 100 kilos less than an M4 Competition. There are no more rear seats, the seats are now made of carbon, some acoustic insulation panels have been removed and a titanium exhaust system has been incorporated.

Carbon fiber and Alcantara as far as the eye can see, here’s what the interior of the M4 CSL looks like. M Carbon seats are equipped with harnesses. We find the BMW Live Cockpit Professional system as instrumentation. It consists in a central screen of 10.25 inches and a 12.3 inch slab placed under the driver’s eyes.

To buy this new item of BMW Motorsport history, it will cost 178,000 euros. 1,000 copies will be manufactured worldwide, 29 are reserved for the French market.
